My grandad was a true gentleman, war hero and devoted family man.Anyone who really knew him knows
these things. The Army and his role in it he described to me,his grandson as "The best days of his
life".My nan,Audrey merry,he described always as "The love of his life".My mum,his daughter was"His
Nip".Probabally one of the srongest Father,Daughter relationships of all!
He was an excellent boxer and,in his prime, well known and feared. Not many men entered the ring and
exited without feeling his "wrath".
I would like all who knew him just to appreciate his life and honour his memory simply as "A
gentleman and a scholar".
Please contact me Richard Harkness on 07786762987 with any personal memories or to view his own
photo album.Only genuine friends or family, respective need reply or phone.Thankyou for ensuring this
great mans memory live on....
Her Majesty The Queen may like to add a few words and of course, knowing how my Grandad loved her
will be most welcome...
